According to model Deniece Cornejo, actor-host Vhong Navarro raped her not once, but twice. The first incident allegedly occurred on January 17, reports PEP.ph.
In her sworn statement, Deniece narrated the events which led to the first sexual assault.
“He lunged at me and managed to raise my shirt exposing my breasts, and he started touching my private parts.
“As I was struggling to stop his advances, he managed to force his penis into my mouth. I tried my best to free myself from his clutches to no avail.
“He then removed his pants and inserted his penis inside my vagina. I was pleading ‘No,’ struggling and crying, begging him to stop and pushing him as best as I could.
“Eventually he stopped and left my unit.”
Business man Cedric Lee reported receiving a message from Deniece asking for help, but although he offered to take the case to the proper authorities, she was apparently still confused about the incident.
The second assault reportedly happened on January 22.
Simeon “Zimmer” Palma Raz, Jr., one of the persons identified in the CCTV (closed-ciruit television) footage taken from Forbeswood Heights Condominium, claimed to have witnessed Vhong’s assault on his friend.
“…I stepped out of the condo unit to smoke in the fire exit. After a while, I went back to Deniece’s unit and as I opened the door, I heard shouts coming from Deniece’s room which prompted me to immediately proceed inward,” he declared on his affidavit.
“At that moment, I saw a man on top of Deniece with his pants and underwear by his ankles. I rushed to Deniece who was shouting for help and forcefully pulled the man away from her.
“The man meanwhile was pulling his shorts up and attempting to escape and throwing punches at me while I merely tried to contain him by pushing him to the ground.
“A few minutes later, Cedric came inside the unit and saw that Vhong was still trying to attack me and escape.”
Despite the gravity of these accusations, Vhong’s camp sees Deniece’s confession as an advantage. “Nag-a-adjust sila ng kanilang kuwento, para naman matugunan 'yung hindi mo maikailang ebidensiya—'yung CCTV footage nga (They're adjusting their story to complement the one evidence you can't deny—the CCTV footage),” says Vhong’s legal counsel Atty. Alma Mallonga in an interview with 24 Oras.
