David Beckham might have been here last week to play against the Philippine Azkals with his team, the LA Galaxy, but he also took the time to visit street children at a United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) center in Manila, PEP.ph reports.

The British football star and father of four, a UNICEF ambassador since 2005, spent time with the kids on December 2, giving them pep talks and joining their activities like sewing and art classes. At the end of his visit, UNICEF reports that he also played a friendly game of football with them and gave them some tips and tricks to remember for future games.

In his Facebook profile, David talked about his experiences in a positive light. "Hi everyone, I had the incredible privilege of being shown around a [UNICEF-supported center] in Manila today," he is quoted as saying. "Young children who have been left to live or work on the streets are given help and support so they can rebuild their lives again and find a home where they are loved and cared for."

"I was so impressed with the welcome and warmth from the children and the incredible work that the staff at the [Center] do," he added. "They are all very special people."
