Cristine Reyes says that though she and her half-sister Ara Mina have never really been close, she still wants to mend their relationship.

“Well, siyempre pag ako ang tatanungin niyo mas gusto kong magkaayos kami, kasi anuman ang mangyari kahit hindi man kami ganun ka close ni Ate, magkadugo pa rin kami (Well, if you were to ask me, of course I’d want us to be okay, since whatever happens, we’re still related, even if we’re not that close),” she was quoted as saying in an article on

She also laments the media’s continued interest in their family’s problems, saying such things shouldn’t be publicized anymore.

“As much as possible, gusto ko sana 'yung problem ng pamilya sa amin na lang, 'yun lang naman 'yung gusto kong mangyari... hindi na dapat natin i-publicize, 'di ba (As much as possible, I’d prefer my family’s problems to be kept between ourselves, that’s all I want to happen…we shouldn’t have to publicize those things, right?)?”

Despite her problems, Cristine says she refuses to hold a grudge toward her sister.

Ako as much as possible, mas gusto ko na wala nang dala-dalang bagahe, kaya hindi na lang tayo dapat magsalita at sana matapos na din ito (For me, as much as possible, I don’t want to carry any more emotional baggage, so let’s just not talk about it and let’s hope that this will end soon.).”
