It can be recalled that earlier this year, Ara Mina had filed a libel case against her sister Cristine Reyes, who allegedly sent her defamatory text messages because of a dispute over the down payment for a house they bought for their mother.

Cristine later said sorry on national television, but it’s apparently not enough for Ara, who found the apology insincere. Still, Cristine says she hopes to spend the holidays with her estranged older sister despite the rift between them.

"I hope, I hope. Hindi napuputol 'yung hope ko," she was quoted as saying in an article on ABS-CBNNews.com. "Hindi po ako tumitigil sa pagri-reach out na maayos. My sister Heidi is communicating with her and she still doesn't want to talk to me. I think hindi pwedeng madaliin so huwag nating pilitin (I’m still hoping. I never stopped reaching out to her. My sister Heidi is communicating with her and she still doesn’t want to talk to me. I think we can’t rush this, so let’s not force it.).”

Cristine also clarified the issue that she had badmouthed her own mother, saying that they are on good terms. "Okay kami ni mommy so hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling 'yung isyu na pinagmumura ko siya at hindi ko minura ang mother ko ever (Me and my mom are okay so I don’t know where the issue that I swore at her came from. I’ve never used any indecent language toward my mother, ever)," she said.
