At the 2012 British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards, actress Meryl Streep's shoe fell off as she stepped onto the stage to get her Best Actress Award for her performance as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, The Daily Mail reports.

Meryl was prepared to give her speech sans the shoe, but fortunately, she was saved from going through the trouble by Colin Firth, her co-actor in Mamma Mia! and presenter of her award. The gallant Colin picked her shoe up, dropped to one knee, and placed the shoe back on her foot. A smiling Meryl gave him a kiss in gratitude.
