Through an Instagram post, Coleen Garcia explained why she arrived late at the ABS-CBN Ball. The actress revealed that she had food poisoning and passed out while she was in Bangkok. As a result, she missed her connecting flight to Manila!
"So I flew from Paris to Bangkok, had one meal in the plane, got food poisoning, did not sleep AT ALL & kept vomiting on the way back. It was so bad. Once I landed in BKK, I didn't have much time but I was STRUGGLING to not pass out while walking in the airport...My vision was a blur, my body felt like it was melting and my head was spinning so bad, so I went straight to the nearest restroom and collapsed in the cubicle before continuing to throw up what was left of my guts."
Thankfully, she was able to catch another flight and eventually made it to the ball!
And while her post was met with a lot of supportive comments, one basher, as posted on the celebcommentsph Instagram account, wrote a comment: "Question: kailangan ba ang presensya mo sa ball? I think no one would notice if you were there or not. Sana nagpahinga ka na lang wala naman makaka-miss."
Coleen, on her part, left things classy by saying: "Hindi po. I just really wanted to be there! I didn't wanna miss it over food poisoning, and I wasn't gonna let all the stress steal my joy that day."
