Sorry, ladies, Chris Tiu is now officially off the market.

Spin.ph reports that the Chinito basketball player and TV host has married his longtime non-showbiz girlfriend in an intimate Catholic ceremony held on September 7 in Vancouver, Canada. Only their close friends and family members got to attend their wedding, and four of the couples’ aunts and uncles were named as their principal sponsors.

Their wedding reception, likewise a very private event, was held at Chef Jessie in Rockwell on September 29.

The lucky girl was revealed to be Clarisse Ong (pictured with Chris' brother Charles Tiu), a “shy and simple” banker who holds the enviable status of being Chris’s only girlfriend since high school. However, unlike Chris, Clarisse still isn’t used to the spotlight.

“Si Chris na lang ang tanungin n'yo please,” she told Spin.ph nicely when she was spotted watching the game of Rain or Shine, the PBA team that Chris is with, over the weekend. “Mas sanay kasi siya sa media than me (Can you just ask Chris, please? Because he’s more used to the media than me.).”

The couple’s other friends have also described Clarisse as being shy but nice.

“Mahiyain siya, sometimes nga hindi pa nagpapakita ng emotion,” a wife of a Rain or Shine player told Spin.ph. “Very meek pero mabait (She’s shy, sometimes she doesn’t show emotion. She’s very meek, but nice.).”
