A locally-made short film is currently making waves online for its beautiful animation.
Hinagunoy sa Goryon (Chirps Of The Tree Sparrow), a movie by Karl Derick Sia, is a story about the intertwined lives of a tree sparrow and three young boys, as narrated by the former.
According to the official Facebook page of the movie, Hinagunoy sa Goryon is the first thesis short film submitted for the Carolinian Annual Film Festival last March 2016. It has won various awards such as Best Student Entry for Animahenasyon 2016 and Special Jury Prize for Binisaya Film Festival 2016, among others.
The creator of the film, Karl, is a Cebu-based freelance digital artist and film graduate. His award-winning creation is currently part of this year’s Binisaya Animasyon. Binisaya Animasyon is an annual film fest where bisaya movies are showcased for everyone to see. It is also a fund-raising program for the BINISAYA organization and the YLC #BEYONDBOOKS program.
