E.L. James, the author of the bestselling erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey, has finally revealed the two actors who would play the novels’ protagonists, the innocent student Anastasia Steele and the powerful billionaire Christian Grey, in its much-awaited film adaptation.

“I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey,” she announced on her Twitter account on September 2.

“The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey,” she revealed a few minutes later.

Dakota, the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, has already appeared in a couple of films (such as The Social Network, 21 Jump Street, and Beastly), while Charlie starred in the 2013 movie Pacific Rim. He also plays the main protagonist in the TV series Sons of Anarchy.

Yahoo UK reports that there have been speculations about the casting for Anastasia and Christian for months, and a number of Hollywood stars (including Emma Watson, Mila Kunis, Alex Pettyfer, and James Franco) have been rumored to play the leads.
