It's official: Charice Pempengco will be gracing our TV screens with the next season of Glee, reports this article on PEP.ph. Despite fan endeavors to get Lea Salonga on the cast, it seems that Charice will beat her to it as the first Pinoy on the American show. You may also recall last month's uproar in which the 18-year-old pop star was rumored to have been cast in the TV musical, but this was denied almost as quickly as it was published.
Oprah's declared "most talented girl in the world" shared the news that she would be the latest addition to the Glee cast via Twitter on June 22, reports Spot.PH: "When [the] rumor came out, it wasn’t true… but then after that, I tried to audition. And I made it!!! Let’s Party!!!!"
The show, which ended its first season earlier this month, topped ratings by bringing music back into television (and not through MTV). As this article on Entertainment Weekly shares, the little girl with the amazing set of pipes will be pit against Glee's reigning diva, Rachel Berry, played by Lea Michele. Charice will be playing a foreign exchange student who will rival the oh-so-hatable yet oh-so-talented Rachel.
