With Mayor Alfredo Lim’s biopic Alfredo S. Lim: The Untold Story coming out in a matter of days and his marriage to actress Sunshine Cruz on the rocks, Cesar Montano certainly can’t escape the public eye. However, the filmmaker-actor has not allowed his personal life to affect his work, remaining as professional as he can be while promoting his film.

During the movie’s presscon last February 23, 2013 at the Manila Yacht Club, Cesar expressed his gratitude to Mayor Lim for trusting him with his story.

“I’m very, very grateful talaga na ipinagkatiwala niya [Mayor Lim] sa akin ang paggawa ng screenplay (I’m really very, very grateful that Mayor Lim entrusted the creation of the screenplay to me),” he was quoted by PEP.ph as saying.

Cesar is also reportedly touched that the mayor, who incidentally, was godfather at his wedding, seems to be concerned about the future of their relationship as well. “Nakakatuwa naman siyempre ninong ko iyan, ninong namin iyan kaya ganun na lamang ang concern niya sa amin (It’s touching, of course he’s my godfather, he’s our godfather, so he’s really that concerned about us.).”

However, the actor is also adamant that he needs to take care of his marriage problems on his own. “Kung iyon ay naging problema within our family, it has to be fixed inside our family. Hindi ko kailangang idamay ang ibang tao (If the problem is within our family, it has to be fixed inside our family. I don’t need to involve other people.).”

“If you think you are a concerned person para sa pamilya namin, then we need your prayers. Please pray for us. Marami pong salamat (If you think you are a concerned person for our family, then we need your prayers. Please pray for us. Thank you very much),” he adds.
