Catriona Gray’s journey to the Miss Universe 2018 title was filled with bumps and road blocks, but that didn’t stop her from continuing and eventually getting what she wanted.
During her launch as the new face of Smart Signature Plans on June 14, the beauty queen couldn’t help but reminisce the wonderful and exciting journey she had. “When I look back to the year that has been, it’s really overwhelming,” she said.
Before joining the world of pageants, Catriona was already making a name as a commercial model. She then joined Miss World Philippines 2016 and represented the country in the international pageant to became part of the Top 5.
She once again joined Binibining Pilipinas in 2018, and this time, she bagged the top title. She then flew to Thailand to vie for the Miss Universe crown. The rest, as they say, is history.
The FN Life Peg is known for being a goal-getter—she knows what she wants and she strives hard to get it. Her story is an inspiration for all those who work so hard to achieve their dreams. Her personal journey has never been easy, but she didn't give up.
That's why when asked during the launch on what piece of advice she can share with those who are struggling to pursue their ambitions, she has these words to say:
“You really have to shed off all those exterior perceptions.
"Don’t mind those people who keep telling us who we should be, what success should look like in our life.
“We really should accept that we’re unique. No two journeys are the same.”
