Local celebrities, although proudly Pinoy, also hail from all over the world! Following this year's Miss Universe phenomenon, we decided to list down personalities with Filipino and Australian parents, just like our Miss Universe 2018 rep Catriona Gray.
Here, five Fil-Aussie celebs we're loving ATM:
1. Catriona Gray
Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray just wrapped up in Bangkok, Thailand for this year's competition. An only child, Catriona grew up in Australia where she lived with her Australian father and Filipina mother. She earned her Certificate in Music Theory from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and later moved to Manila.
2. Anne Curtis
Fil-Aussie Anne Curtis is the daughter of an Australian World War II veteran and a Filipino mom who hails from Pangasinan. Anne started her acting career and moved to the PH at a young age, playing the role of Princess Dahlia for the film Magic Kingdom in 1997. She recently came back from her South African honeymoon with hubby Erwan Heussaff.
3. Jasmine Curtis-Smith
Unlike her older sister Anne, Jasmine stayed in Australia until she finished high school and only started her showbiz career in 2010. Jasmine's first lead role was for the TV5 series Nandito Ako, where she was paired with American Idol Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta.
4. James Reid
The other half of love team JaDine has an Australian father and a Filipina mother. James moved to the Philippines from Australia in his teens and started his acting and music career after being named the Big Winner of the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010.
5. Leila Alcasid
Leila (who turned 21 this year) was born in the Philippines to veteran Filipino singer and songwriter Ogie Alcasid and 1994 Miss Universe Australia Michelle van Eimeren before moving to Australia when she was five years old. Leila recently moved back to the PH to pursue her singing career and has released her debut single "Completely In Love."
