The entire country swooned when Zoren Legaspi orchestrated a surprise proposal and wedding last month for his longtime partner, Carmina Villaroel. Some people even remarked that Zoren’s act was one of the most romantic things a man can ever do for his partner. However, Carmina says she and her family did not expect that her marriage will have such a big impact on the public.

“Naku, talagang nahihiya nga ang asawa ko,” Carmina was quoted as saying in an interview with Push.com.ph, adding that Zoren did not set out to please the public with his act.

“Hindi, nahihiya si Zoren kasi 'nung iniisip niya ito, hindi niya inisip na kung ano ang magiging tingin sa kanya ng mga tao. Kumbaga ginawa niya talaga ito for me lang. Ako lang ang gusto niyang pasayahin at sorpresahin. Tapos 'yung impact 'nung wedding namin parang grabe sa mga tao. So pati yun sorpresa para sa kanya, para sa akin. Wala, nahihiya siya, very thankful lang na ganun, na natutuwa yung mga tao. Joke na nga nagalit na daw 'yung mga lalake sa kanya (My husband is already getting embarrassed. Zoren is embarrassed because when he thought of this, he wasn’t thinking of what people will think about him. He did this only for me. I’m the only one he wanted to surprise and please. “Natutuwa siya kasi parang lahat sila sinasabi na I’m so lucky kasi nga ginawa nga 'yun ni Zoren,” she continued. “Hindi na nga 'Prince Charming' eh, ‘Zoren’ na 'yung tawag di ba sa 'Prince Charming' na adjective (He’s happy because everyone’s saying that I’m so lucky that Zoren did that for me. ‘Zoren’ has now replaced ‘Prince Charming’ as an adjective.).”
