Carlo Aquino has been busy with a couple of box-office hits lately. He was in Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral alongside Paulo Avelino. And of course, he also starred in Exes Baggage with his real-life ex Angelica Panganiban (which recently hit the P300 million mark, btw). And it looks like he's about to be in another box-office hit because he'll be starring in Nadine Lustre's new film called Ulan.

In June 2018, it was announced that Xian Lim would be Lustre's leading man in the film. But it seems like things have changed since then because the movie's official Instagram account has posted a photo of Nadine and Carlo on set.

Aside from Aquino, Nadine will also be working with AJ Muhlach and Marco Gumabao on the movie. Muhlach's character is named Mark while Gumabao plays a character named Andrew. The film will be directed by Irene Villamor, who also helmed romance dramas Camp Sawi, Meet Me in St. Gallen, and Sid & Aya (Not a Love Story).

Nadine notably isn't working with her usual on-screen (and real-life) partner James Reid for the film. But in a previous interview, she's expressed her excitement over the both of them working with new people. "It's just work. Kung ano 'yong makakapagpabuti sa project. I mean, I trust Viva [Entertainment] naman and, of course, it's for the good of the film," she says.

The plot details of the film have been kept under wraps but according to Nadine, it's about self-love, which she feels very strongly about. "I'm really excited for this one. It's about finding yourself and learning to love yourself. This is what I really stand for."

The premiere date of the film is yet to be announced, but fingers crossed it'll hit theaters soon! It'll be exciting to see how the new love-team pairings work out.
