Carlo Aquino and Angelica Panganiban are not in a romantic relationship (much to the disappointment of CarGel fans), but they have been working together on the daytime TV series Playhouse, and one particularly emotional scene has gotten us feeling feels.
In a clip aired on February 25, Harold (Carlo) and Patty (Angelica) are seen inside a cafe. He tells her that he's leaving for Singapore and will be staying there for three years, and Patty, obviously surprised, sees this as an opening to apologize to him for what happened between them.
Harold, trying—and failing—to hold back tears, says, "I know. I know you tried, pero kahit anong gawin mo, o kahit anong pilit ko rin, we both know na I cannot be that guy. It will always be...si Marlon [Zanjoe Marudo]." And with that, he lets go of her hand, and he lets go of her.
You can watch the whole heartbreaking scene below, but make sure there are tissues nearby:
As much as we all wanted the childhood sweethearts to get back together last year, Carlo and Angelica confirmed that they're just good friends. During the latter part of 2018, the two went on a Japan vacation with friends and Angelica even spent Christmas with Carlo's family.
In early 2019, however, Angelica began posting reactions to bashers on social media, saying on January 9, "Hindi na kayo makakarinig ng kahit na ano sa akin regarding Carlo." There was a time when she even unfollowed the actor on Instagram! There have also been speculations about Carlo dating someone else, but we hope everything's good between the two of them in real life!
