Billy Crawford has faced the media for the first time since news of his split from Nikki Gil broke out. In an interview with The Buzz host Boy Abunda on July 28, the singer-TV host tearfully admitted that the breakup was mainly his fault.

"Walang kinalaman si Nikki (Nikki didn’t do anything),” he was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph. "It all boils down to me… Nikki has not been anything apart from good to me. Everything I said there a while ago, you know, she is a dream come true when it comes to finding the right one. But it's hard to find the right one kung ikaw mismo (if you yourself), you're not right.”

The 31-year-old It's Showtime host, who has been in showbiz for almost 26 years, also revealed that he felt so pressured to please everyone that he had forgotten the importance of making himself happy as well.

"I tried to do everything I can for everyone to be happy, especially the people around me—the people that I love. And I forgot what makes me happy. I forgot who I am,” he said. "I don't know what I'm doing... all I know what to do is to work.”

Billy, who is scheduled to fly to the United States on August 3 to spend time with his family, then said that he agreed to being interviewed so people would stop speculating about the reason behind their split. He also shared that there was no third party in their relationship, adding that he had even started making marriage plans with Nikki. However, he refused to give a direct answer when Boy asked if he had fallen out of love.

"I love her... I still do," he said. "But it's unfair to continue if I'm the one that's... because I became distant."
