This May, Good Housekeeping gets up close and personal with the beautiful Bettina Carlos. The 25-year-old actress, baker, and mom to two-year-old Amanda Lucia a.k.a. Gummy, gladly shares with the magazine some of her thoughts on motherhood:

What would you invent to make parenthood easier?

A gadget that automatically jots down your tasks as you think of them and ranks them according to priority.

When all else fails, what makes Gummy happy?

She’s rarely moody but what instantly makes her happy and holds her attention are Jollibee and Hello Kitty. She goes nuts seeing them. Also, playing pretend always gets her.

What's the best lesson you've learned from Gummy?

Gummy has taught me how to take my sweet time, to stop and smell the flowers, literally and figuratively. And the significance of setting an example—I first have to be what I want her to become.

What wisdom from your mom will you pass on to your kid?

Count your blessings. Give thanks and be a blessing to others. It’s that attitude of gratitude and generosity that I want to instill in Gummy.

What's on your life's to-do list?

Everything on my list now basically revolves around securing a good future and a fun life for Gummy. I want to give her a good education and teach her to invest in experiences (like traveling) over material things. I want to show her the world and expose her senses to different cultures and cuisines!
