In an August 9 tweet, Bela Padilla expressed her dismay towards a Grab Philippines driver, saying that he announced her home address over a radio system, which goes against the ride sharing platform's privacy policies.
Bela tweeted, "Rode grab today and the driver announced on the grab radio where I live. Hello @grabph [emoji] this can't possibly be right."
Grab Philippines immediately responded: "Hi Bela! We're so sorry to hear about your experience :( This incident shouldn't have happened since we value every passenger's safety and privacy. We sent you a DM to help move our investigation forward. Thank you!"
In an Instagram Live session on the same day, Bela shared what happened, noting that she heard the driver mention her home address over a radio system of drivers. She explained that she did ask the driver why he disclosed her private information, but wasn't able to expound on the answer.
"Parang na-sad na lang ako," she noted.
Grab's policies for drivers include keeping two way radio conversations at a minimum, as well as refraining from sharing private information of customers.
