Bela Padilla is currently in the island paradise of Amanpulo and such an occasion definitely deserves uploading a cool beach snap on Instagram. So that's exactly what the Kapamilya actress did when she posted a pic of her sitting down on the sand while wearing a cute blue and white bikini. "I mean. I can get used to this office," she wrote in the caption.
This picture, however, received an overwhelming amount of negative comments that pointed out Bela's belly. One Instagram user gave a backhanded compliment and even used the hashtag #BellyPadilla.
This prompted Bela to respond to her haters on Twitter. In the first of two tweets, she wrote that it's absolutely normal to have a belly when you sit down—and it IS. (Let's be real, though, sitting or not, it's totally fine!)
"Shocked by the number of comments on my IG post pointing out that I have a belly. Yes, I do. It holds in my organs that I need to live. It has a layer of muscles that I worked hard for in the gym and a layer of fat from the food I enjoy to eat. Deal with it. PLUS I'm seated."
In the following tweet, she said that if she did edit her photo to remove her belly, it wouldn't be sending a positive message to her followers, "Would it have made you more comfortable if I edited my photo to perfection? Because I could have easily done that. But what message does it send to the younger ones? That our photos are only likeable when we're perfect in photos? Not from me. NEVER."
Yes, Bela! You tell 'em.
