If you follow Bea Alonzo on Instagram (and watch her Stories religiously, like I do) then you know that she's really into running. Even while on vacation, she manages to squeeze in a quick run.

In a vlog uploaded on July 13, 2018, Bea talks about what led her to start running and becoming more active, in general.

When she first started acting, Bea admitted to feeling super insecure about her body: "Alam niyo naman din na sobrang tabain ko, 'di ba? Noong time na 'yon, sobra akong insecure. I didn't feel good about myself. Inisip ko, 'I'm not the pretty one. I'm not the sexy one. So maybe I should be the good one.'" She channeled her energy into becoming a good actress, instead, to give herself an edge in the industry.

Until one day, she just decided to do something about it: "I started running. I started eating right...Nakakita lang ako ng results after a year." Bea recently enrolled in a gym, invested in a personal trainer, and signed up for Pilates classes; she calls it her "balik alindog program."

She also realized that the important thing is that you love yourself: "...Being comfortable in your own skin and just deciding na, 'Hey, I'm fabulous. I'm awesome,' kahit na sabihin ng society that you're not."
