Before, Bea Alonzo did not believe that it’s possible to successfully balance a happy relationship and a successful career. However, that changed when she and her boyfriend, Zanjoe Marudo, got together.

“Alam mo, for the longest time, maniniwala na sana ako na mamimili ka kung career ba o lovelife,” Bea was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph. “Kapag okay daw ang lovelife, walang career. Pero I’m a living proof na, okay, puwedeng magsabay (You know, for the longest time, I believed that I would have to choose between my career and my lovelife. They say that if your lovelife's doing great, your career isn't. But I'm a living proof that, okay, it's possible to have both!)!”

However, Bea admits that it wasn’t as easy as she and Zanjoe make it seem. She adds that she’s fortunate they both understand the nature of each other’s work. “Alam mo, I’m very lucky na understanding 'yung boyfriend ko,” she shared. “Siguro malaking bagay na pareho kaming artista, naiintindihan niya 'yung schedule ko (You know, I'm very lucky that my boyfriend is understanding. Maybe it's a big factor that we're both actors, as he understands my schedule.).”

Though they try to keep their relationship as low profile as possible, Bea says that they’re also open to sharing some snippets of their relationship to their fans. “Mayroon din naman kaming hindi ipinagdadamot sa public kasi they deserve to know about it kasi we’re public figures,” she said. “Para bang kahit papaano, natututunan namin 'yung art of being private and being public, na ine-enjoy namin (We also share some things with the public because they deserve to know about our relationship, as we're both public figures. We also got to learn the art of being private and being public and we enjoy it.).”

Bea also hopes, like any other couple, that she and Zanjoe would be able to stay together until the end. However, she still refuses to talk about marriage, saying it’s still too early for her.“Masyado pa po akong bata para pag-isipan ‘yan," she said. “Kaka-twenty-five ko lang. Sana, ideally, I’m going to get married mga 29 or 30. Baka masyado pa pong maaga para sabihin kong kami talaga. Pero sana, I could only wish na maging kami talaga sa dulo (It's too early to be thinking about that. I just turned 25. I hope, ideally, I'll get married when I'm 29 or 30. It might be too early for me to say that we'll stay together, but I really wish we'd be together until the end.).”
