After Barbie Imperial and Diego Loyzaga were spotted spending time together in March and having some playful exchanges via Instagram, netizens were *hopeful* that the two have gotten back together—especially since they only broke up a couple of months ago. In her most recent Magandang Buhay interview, however, the 23-year-old actress confirmed that she had *not* gotten back together with her ex-boyfriend.
"Okay po kasi kami. Hindi naman po kami magkaaway pero hindi naman po kami nagbalikan. Friends lang, friends. Kulitan lang," she clarified.
She also said that prior to their ~playful~ IG interaction, they already talked personally. "Actually po, before pa nung exchange ng comments na yun, nakapagusap naman po kami nong bumalik siya galing States," she explained.
In the same interview, Barbie opened up about how she *coped* after their breakup.
"Ako po, parang hinintay ko ng one week, sinolo ko talaga 'yung breakup as in nasa kuwarto lang ako, sobrang lungkot ko talaga. Ako kasi alam ko po talaga kapag nasasaktan ako ay mas doble ang sakit para sa nanay ko. So kinimkim ko muna mag-isa, tapos nung medyo kaya ko ng kaunti ay doon ko sinabi kay mama at saka nung sigurado na na break na talaga," she divulged.
The 23-year-old actress also shared that *not* rushing herself when it came to moving on helped her to heal properly. "Ako po kasi naniniwala talaga ako na 'yung power ng time na maghi-heal ka talaga. Hindi mo siya kailangang madaliin. Darating at darating talaga siya. So patience lang talaga na every day sasabihin mo sa sarili mo na magiging okay din."
She also shared mentioned that her mother played a big part in healing herself after her breakup. "Nung nag-break kami ni Diego... siguro two weeks na sa kuwarto ko siya natutulog. And palagi niyang ina-advise sa akin na pray lang at nire-remind niya ako na bata pa ako marami pang mangyayari sa life ko."
"Yung pain, part kasi siya ng pagiging tao at 'di ka magiging ikaw ngayon kung hindi sa pain na na-experience mo sa past."
How's Barbie doing a few months after her breakup with Diego, you may ask? According to her, she's been feeling super happy and positive. She even got a heart tattoo on her finger during her recent Cebu trip, which, according to her, stands for "more self-love [in] 2022."
"Ngayon po, siyempre sobrang happy na talaga ako. Finally, finally, after three months ng breakup namin, I am okay na. Happy."
