Actor Art Acuña, who had appeared with Gretchen Barretto in the ABS-CBN teleserye Princess And I and in the Cinemalaya entry The Diplomat Hotel, has shrugged off the rumor linking him to the actress.

Art is reported to have been linked to the actress for a long time, but the rumors circling them intensified after it was found that Gretchen had personally recommended him for his part in The Diplomat Hotel.

“I just smiled at it, you know, and there’s no truth to it anyway. There’s nothing going on between us, but we are good friends,” Art was quoted by PEP.ph as saying in an interview aired on the July 4 episode of TV Patrol. He added that Gretchen’s partner, businessman Tonyboy Cojuanco, is also a good friend of his.

Gretchen has also brushed off the rumors, deeming a romance between her and Art “impossible.”

“I’m very happy with my relationship with Tonyboy,” she was quoted as saying in an earlier article on Interaksyon.com.

“Oh please, I’m too old for that… crap,” she had added before ending the impromptu interview.
