Apl de Ap has admitted that he used to have feelings for KC Concepcion, telling PEP.ph that he really wanted to court the 28-year-old actress before.

“We had a dinner date with friends and staff. It was a short time, short engagement coz I had to leave, I had a flight to US that night,” he said. “She got busy, I got busy. While I was on tour, she got really busy. I focused on my tour, on my career. We never knew what was gonna happen, I still got to know her again and we’re still friends.”

The Black Eyed Peas singer also revealed that he also gave KC flowers and jewelry to show that he was serious about pursuing her.

“Yes, I gave her flowers before. I think I bought her a bracelet for Christmas,” he recalled. “I was [serious] at that moment but unfortunately we didn’t connect well. She got so busy but we’re still friends... Nothing stopped, we still communicated, but when I found out she had a boyfriend, I didn’t pursue what I felt for her anymore.”

But KC recently split from her French boyfriend Pierre Emmanuel Plassart, saying that she wasn’t ready yet for a serious relationship after he revealed that he wanted to marry her. This did not seem to deter Apl, who says that he would like to be great friends with her first.

"You know a great relationship starts with having a good friendship first, so we can continue to be good friends. Friendship is a good foundation so definitely I’d like to hang out, have some food, have some drinks with her. And [get] to know her more,” he said.
