Anne Curtis has gone a long way from her teenybopper days back when she entered show business in 1997. Over the years, she has transformed from being a fresh-faced ingénue into one of the most influential celebrities in the local entertainment scene.

When PEP.ph asked if her continuous reinvention was something she had planned, she said that the evolution of her image was a natural process.

“There’s not really a conscious effort but I think as you age, it just comes naturally and I’m happy that all my fans and followers, they accept whatever change I make, or how I aged, throughout the show business,” she was quoted as saying. “And you know it’s never been a perfect Anne, it’s never a perfect metamorphosis of changing and making mistakes. It was like a smooth journey of aging and changing image… and no matter what decision was made or mistake was made, they have supported me.”

But despite her ever-increasing popularity, the 28-year-old celebrity says that her ascent to showbiz fame wasn’t as effortless as she made it seem. However, she also says that admitting her mistakes endeared her more to the public.

“It’s not easy... something will happen to you that may not be as pleasant... but I think the key to it is not hiding it,” she said. “If it happens, it happens. Own up to it and people will accept you more. I think, someone or everyone can relate to ‘coz you’re not the perfect... image, you’re not that perfect role model, you’re a human being also.”
