Anne Curtis may be the most-followed Filipino on Twitter, but she still says she doesn’t see herself as a role model. Rather, she prefers to be known as a person who remains true to herself.

“I’ve never been this squeaky-clean kind of girl,” she was quoted as saying in an interview with PEP.ph. “But I can be a role model, in a sense, on being true to yourself, and not having any skeletons in your closet.”

“You’re a human being. So, I don’t like the tag as a ‘role model,’ ‘cause I know I’ve never been this squeaky-clean image (sic),” she continued. “I’ve made mistakes, people know that. But it’s all about dealing with that after, if you learn from that mistake. I’d rather be that kind of girl.”

Anne also says she takes care to express her opinions on Twitter without hurting people’s feelings.

“I’ve always been one to speak my mind, and I’ve always been one to not care what people think about me,” she says. “In terms of being responsible, I’m never the type naman to say something that I think would be rude. So, I don’t think I have to think about it that much. Especially me, my Twitter account is filled with all sorts of things… So, it’s more of trying to show who I am as a person, than thinking what to tweet responsibly. If you’re a responsible person, you’ll tweet the responsible things you know.”
