Anne Curtis issued a public apology to Maja Salvador on the January 24 episode of It’s Showtime for a joke she made on the show the day before.

PEP.ph reports that during the “Sine Mo ‘To” role-playing segment of the show’s January 23 episode, Vhong Navarro had asked Jhong Hilario who Vice Ganda was, to which Jhong answered, “Siya si Cirinderella.” Vhong then replied, “Hindi sya Cirinderella. Siya si Allan… Allan-di mo!”

Anne then cut in, saying, “Oy, hindi. Siya yata si Maja… Majarot ka,” making Vice say, “Ay, statement ‘yan! Statement ‘yan ha (It seems like you're insinuating something!)!”

“Ako, hindi ako si Maja. Ako si Kim,” he added, causing Vhong to comment, “Ikaw si Kim... Kim-Kong.”

The next day, Anne took the opportunity to apologize to Maja for her joke, saying that she didn’t want to offend the actress, whose friendship with Kim Chiu is now on shaky ground because of her alleged involvement with Gerald Anderson.

“Before anything else, bago tayo mag-joke time at mag-playtime dito, gusto ko muna mag-publicly apologize kung may na-offend ako kahapon sa joke ko (Before anything else, before we make time for jokes and playtime, I would first like to apologize if I offended anyone yesterday with my joke),” Anne said. “Hindi ko naman naging intention na directly po mag-offend (It wasn’t my intention to directly offend anyone.). It was really [meant] toward Vice, it was a joke.”

“Siguro, dapat mas naging sensitive ako kung may mga issues. Kaya I just want to say sorry, Maja (Maybe I should have been more sensitive if there are issues. So I just want to say sorry, Maja.).”
