Angelica Panganiban has certainly gone through a lot this 2012. She went through a controversial break-up, got a taste of the independent life, and found new love, all within the span of a few months. When asked the actress to assess the past year, she replied that it was an entirely different experience for her.

Siyempre, ano siya, parang ngayon lang ako naka-experience ng ganito. Kakaibang experience,” she was quoted as saying in an article.“Parang this year ako nakabili ng sarili mong bahay (I was only able to experience these things now. It’s a different experience. I was only able to buy my very own house this year).”

Her new place isn’t fully paid yet, but Angelica is already relishing the feeling of going home to a house she had worked hard for. “Iba 'yung umuuwi ka sa sarili mong bahay, 'di ba (It’s different when you’re going home to your own house, right?)?”

She also revealed that she is in the process of making the necessary arrangements regarding the house she shared with her ex-boyfriend Derek Ramsay. “Sa akin nakapangalan, pero naghati kasi kami... Inaayos pa po (It’s entitled to me, but we split it... we’re fixing it now.).”

Angelica, who dreams of starting her own business in the near future, is also enjoying her newfound independence a lot. She revealed that she finds joy in being able to see the fruits of her hard work. “Gusto ko yun, ang sarap ng feeling. Masarap magtrabaho na alam mong, ‘O, kaya ako nagpapakahirap na ganito kasi ito ang pinundar ko.’ Di ba (I like that, it’s a great feeling. It’s more fun to work when you’re thinking, ‘I’m working very hard because I’m saving up for this,’ right?)?”

As for her holiday plans, the actress shared that she will be spending Christmas in America with her family. “Nakabakasyon ho ako... Unang beses ko ho na makakasama ang pamilya ko. Nasa Amerika sila. And for five years, hindi ako sa kanila nagpa-Pasko,” she said. “Siyempre, ako masaya. Pero mas masaya sila kasi, feeling nila, 'May tama siyang gagawin ngayong taong ito. Pamilya na ang pina-prioritize niya’ (I’ll be on vacation... This will be my first time to be with my family. They’re in America. And I haven’t spent Christmas with them for five years. Of course, I’m happy. But they’re happier because they feel that I’m finally doing something right this year. I’m finally prioritizing my family.).”
