Actress Angelica Panganiban has finally broken her silence regarding the rumored romance between her and matinee idol John Lloyd Cruz. In a report from ABS-CBNNews.com, the actress firmly said that they're just friends.

"Nagkatrabaho lang kami and sa ngayon hanggang doon pa lang iyon. Magkaibigan kami, yun lang yun," she said. "Kung magiging special siya, eh di makikita niyo. Malalaman niyo. Kung maging matalik kaming magkaibigan, magiging special siya. (We just worked together, and as of now, that's it. We're just friends, that's all. If he will be special [to me], then you'll see. You'll know. If we become close friends, he will be special.)"

Both Angelica and John Lloyd have recently broken up with their respective significant others; Angelica and actor Derek Ramsay called ended their much-publicized relationship after six years, while John Lloyd and actress Shaina Magdayao went their separate ways after an on-off relationship that lasted two years.

Angelica also denied the rumor that she and John Lloyd were seen holding hands and kissing in public. "Yun yung medyo imposible na talagang mangyari. Hindi na ako yun. Hindi ko naman lubos maisip na gagawin ko 'yun (That's a bit impossible. That's not me. I don't think I'll be able to do that)," the actress said.

In a separate interview with PEP.ph, Derek Ramsay also refuted the rumor that John Lloyd was spotted in Angelica’s condominium unit in Eastwood City.

"Alam n'yo, guys, kung totoo 'yan, ang daming picture n'yan, si John Lloyd Cruz is John Lloyd Cruz (You know guys, if that's true, there will be lots of pictures, as John Lloyd Cruz is John Lloyd Cruz), " he said. "He is the most popular actor in the country. If he walks around Eastwood, there'd be a lot of people showing pictures of John Lloyd, so I don't think that is true. I'll clarify, I know it's not true.”

He also said that everything that happened in their six-year relationship should be just between him and Angelica and that everyone should respect their decision and move on. "Guys, that's a private matter, Angel and I spent a great six years together. 'Wag na nating anuhin 'to, na madagdagan pa ang mga issues namin (Don't meddle anymore; don't give us more issues)."

"We’ve said our piece, to be fair to those who love and support us. Pero sana naman, respetuhin natin si Angel (But please, let us respect Angel)," he added. "People fall in and out of love every day, it is not a crime, it is just a fact of life. The thing is you just have to respect and move on."
