According to an article on PEP.ph, during the thanksgiving press conference of A Secret Affair, veteran actress Jaclyn Jose mentioned that there are those who seemingly do not approve of her daughter Andi Eigenmann pairing up with Jake Ejercito, son of former Philippine President Joseph Ejercito Estrada and Laarni Enriquez.

“Hindi ko sinabing sila ni Jake, ang sabi ko lang, mero’n… Dagdagan natin—baka ayaw ng parents... Let them fall in love (I'm not saying that Andi and Jake are together, I'm saying that something's going on between them... The thing is, his parents might not approve of their relationship. Let them fall in love),” Jaclyn was quoted as saying in the article.

Andi quickly apologized via her blog, andieigengirl.com, saying that her mom did not intend to put anyone in a bad light. “Maybe at that point, she too was only being a mom,” she wrote. The young actress also added that she “wouldn’t have fallen in love with such a fine, young man if not for the amazing parents he has that surely raised him well.”

While Andi is aware that there are people who do not think that she deserves Jake’s love, she seems determined to prove her worth. “I'm not perfect, and I'm only human. People make mistakes. But that doesn’t mean we're not allowed to learn from them and deserve forgiveness too. I trust that everything will be alright in God’s time,” she wrote.

In a separate report by ABS-CBNNews.com, the former president said that he is not one to meddle in his son’s affairs.

“Hindi ako nakikialam lalo na nasa sapat na gulang na siya... Yung anak ko nag-aaral 'yun, matalino iyon eh kaya hindi ko kailangang turuan. Kung iyon ang gusto, sabi ko sa kanya, 'Your future is in your hands.' (I do not meddle in my son's affairs because he's already of age... My son is educated, he's smart, so I don't need to teach him. If that's what he wants, I told him, 'Your future is in your hands.'),” he said.
