Andi Eigenmann may have defended her mom Jaclyn Jose’s controversial statements about her ex-boyfriend Jake Ejercito, but she says their relationship is still strained. In the December 6 episode of Kris TV, Andi, who was a guest in the show, admitted that she and her mother are not yet on the best of terms because of what she said.

“She just told me and Jake when she got home,” Andi was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph. “Tapos, 'yung sinabi niya, hindi ‘yon ang lumabas sa interview. So, medyo na-hurt kami ni Jake, kasi parang nilaglag kami (Then, what she told us was not the same as what appeared in the interview. So I and Jake were a bit hurt because we felt she let us down.).”

Still, Andi insists that she understands why her mom said those things in her interview. “I honestly said, hindi pa po kami okay,” she said. “But I still respect what my mom's intention was doon sa interview na 'yon, especially pa, after the interview, I chose to go on TV only to defend someone else's mom and someone else, and Jake. Pero at the end of the day, my mom, she's still there (I honestly said, we’re not yet okay. But I still respect my mom’s intention when she gave that interview, especially when, after the interview, I chose to go on TV only to defend someone else’s mom and someone else, and Jake. But at the end of the day, my mom, she’s still there.).”

She also said she regrets what she said in her interview, especially after her breakup with Jake. “Parang 'yung ginawa ko, mali ko pa rin ‘yon,” she said. “Parang kinampihan ko pa ang boyfriend ko than my mom—even my mom, maganda 'yung intentions and my boyfriend just left me out of nowhere (What I did was wrong. I sided with my boyfriend over my mom—even when she had good intentions and my boyfriend just left me out of nowhere.).”

As for getting into a new relationship, Andi says she’d rather focus on her child and her career for now. “I don't think I'm ready. I don't want to think kung kailan ako magiging ready. Parang kung darating, e, di darating,” she said. “Pero as of now, I just want to be single and focus on Ellie and my priorities—which is my career. Gusto ko na walang problema, parang free ka (I don’t want to think when I’ll be ready. If it’ll come, it’ll come. But as of now, I just want to be single and focus on Ellie and my priorities—which is my career. I don’t want to have any more problems, so I can be free.).”
