Rumors have swirled around Ai-Ai delas Alas's rocky relationship with boyfriend Jed Salang, including stories of Jed beating her up. While Ai-Ai vehemently denies these allegations, the actress did say that the couple went through a rough patch on Valentine's week, PEP.ph reports.

Ai-Ai was mum about the cause of the misunderstanding, but it was the reason why she flew to the States sans Jed right after her February 16 concert with Korean pop sensation Psy. On February 25, the actress flew back to Manila from Los Angeles, California.

In an exclusive interview with PEP, Ai Ai agreed to share the details of her troubled relationship with Jed.

"Napag-usapan na namin ni Jed ang problema at unti-unti na naming inaayos (Jed and I have talked about our problem and we're slowly fixing things)," she shared. "Gusto ko lang linawin na walang katotohanan ang mga naglalabasan na balita na binubugbog ako ni Jed. Walang ganoon... (I just want to clear up that there is no truth to the news of Jed beating me up. There's no such thing.)."

Ai-Ai added, "Lahat naman ng couple, dumaraan din sa mga pagsubok. Hindi naman kami kakaiba. Mga tao rin kami. Siyempre, siya ang sumuyo sa akin. February 13 pa lang, sinusuyo na niya ako (All couples go through hardships. We're no different. We're people, too. But of course, he reached out to me. As early as February 13, he already reached out to me.)."

"Basta ako, patatagalin ko ang relasyon na 'to (I'm going to make this relationship last)," Ai-Ai emphasized.
