After a week of speculations, Ai-Ai Delas Alas has finally confirmed that she tied the knot her non-showbiz boyfriend Jed Salang during their recent trip to Las Vegas. In an interview aired on the April 14 episode of The Buzz, the comedienne and her new husband revealed details of not just their wedding, but of their whole love story.

Ai-Ai recalls that they met on February 3, 2012 at Opus, a club in Resorts World Manila. She later threw a birthday party for him on the 17th, which also marked the first time they admitted that they love each other.

The couple’s relationship may have progressed quite quickly, but that doesn’t mean that they never fought. They almost broke up because they disagreed a lot, and Ai-Ai even had him banned from entering her home one time.

“Ipina-ban ko siya sa Ayala. Hindi siya puwedeng pumasok,” she was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph. “Tapos sabi niya, sa isip niya raw, ‘Pupuntahan ko na lang sa bahay at gagawin ko lahat, kahit na ano’ng mangyari.’ E, pagdating ko sa bahay, pitong guwardiya ang humaharang sa kanya. Ang ending, itinakas niya ako at doon kami sa labas nag-usap (I asked Ayala to have him banned. He cannot enter my home. Then he said, he was thinking, ‘I’ll go to her home and I’ll do anything, whatever happens.’ When I got home, there were seven guards preventing him from entering. In the end, he got me to sneak out and we talked outside.).”

Jed then said that he wanted to marry her on that same night.

“Alam ko naman kasi kung ano ang ikakatahimik namin parehas. Kung ano ang ikaliligaya naming parehas. So, sinabi ko na, ‘Gusto mong magpakasal?’ So, nag-usap kami. Plinano namin (I know what would make us both content. What would make us both happy. So I said, 'Do you want to get married?' So we talked. We planned the wedding),” he said.

The couple finally tied the knot at around 3:00 P.M. on April 4 (April 3 in America) at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ai-Ai went down the aisle in a white Maxi Cinco dress, accompanied by her eldest son Sancho.

“Baka gumawa kami ng isang church wedding. Yun ang pinaplano ko para excited sila kapag nag-wedding na ako (We might have a church wedding. That’s what I’m planning so they will be excited when I hold a wedding),” she said, adding that she wanted the big day to be on December 8 to coincide with the feast of the Immaculate Conception.
