Around this time of year, we usually await the Star Magic Ball to see our favorite celebs walk down the red carpet. This year, however, the first-ever ABS-CBN Ball is happening, and we're even more excited!

The 2018 ABS-CBN Ball, happening on September 29, will be dedicated to the relaunch of Bantay Bata 163 Children's Village. Opened in 2003, the Children's Village is a halfway house for rescued kids who've been victims of abuse and neglect.

In a press release, psychologist Estrelita Turingan of DSWD-NCR says that Bantay Bata 163 provides "each child with their own unique program of counseling, psychotherapy, and treatment" because "there are no identical cases."

The ABS-CBN Ball is the first step to boosting the project as it celebrates friendship, love, and the importance of giving back to the community. This year's ball will launch a campaign that aims to help reopen the Bantay Bata 163 Children's Village in Norzagaray, Bulacan in November 2018. When it relaunches, not only will they be accepting victims of cybersex crimes, the Children's Village will also offer holistic counseling for the victim's entire family courtesy of Ateneo's Center of Family Ministries (CEFAM).
