Justin Bieber told the crowd at Britain’s V Festival on Saturday he was feeling “a little hungover” following a night out with Rihanna.
The "Sorry" singer was pictured leaving London’s Tape nightclub at 5am on Saturday morning with a mystery woman after partying with fellow V headliner Rihanna on Friday night and he admitted to the audience at the festival in Chelmsford, Essex he was still feeling the effects during his headline performance.
“I’m a little hungover, I’m not gonna lie,” he said, and while looking around at the fast food trucks on the site, he said he could do with a burger “to soak up all this alcohol in my system.”
During his lengthy speech, he told fans life is a gift and shouldn’t be taken for granted, saying, “Who here values their life? Growing up we go through periods where we don’t value life as much as we should.” He also admitted there was a time he didn’t value his, referencing his own past bad boy behavior.
He performed most of usual Purpose World Tour set, including older hits such as "Baby" and "Boyfriend," but a number of audience members took to Twitter to share their disappointment with his show, claiming he was lip-syncing.
“Gutted! I love love love Justin Bieber but tonight at V he was miming. Not cool,” one fan tweeted, with another lamenting: “Nah @justinbieber is miming at V Fest. I ain’t paid £80 for a ticket to his tour to listen to his CD and see him run around the stage”.
Weeks before the show, it was announced that Justin’s set would be the most “challenging” production in the festival’s 21-year history as he was due to have 800 gallons of water poured over him onstage. However, this didn’t take place and WENN has contacted festival representatives for an explanation.
His headline set followed Sia, who had a few technical problems of her own due to bad weather.
Justin is due to perform at the other V Festival site in Staffordshire on Sunday while Rihanna is set to headline the Essex venue.
