The couple had friends and family flying in from all over the country as well as from the US and Brazil, not to mention a star-studded guest list including newlyweds Regine and Ogie and power couple Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres-Gomez, with their daughter, Juliana. Richard stood by John as his best man. Also in attendance were Kris Aquino, Sam Milby, Ai-Ai delas Alas, Vicki Belo, Hayden Kho Jr., and more.
By all accounts the wedding was filled with as much light-hearted laughter as it was love and poignancy.
PEP.ph reports of how Lilia Estrada, John’s mom, gave a speech full of maternal reminders for her son, beginning with, “I pray and I [hope] that this will be your last marriage.” (John’s union with Janice de Belen gave him four children, Yuan, Czarinah Isabella, Michaela Aryanna, and Moira Danielle.)
When John interjected with, "Ma, wedding ko 'to. Hindi po natin sala 'to (Ma, this is my wedding. This isn't our living room)," she merely told him, "Hindi pa ako tapos (I'm not done yet)," then proceeded with the rest of her speech.
