Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez gave birth to a baby boy, Nathaniel James, on the night of November 8, PEP.ph reports. Regine delivered Nathan via caesarian section at 7:47 PM in a private hospital.
"Nathaniel James" was even a top Twitter trend in the Philippines on November 9, which means a large volume of users Tweeted the phrase at the same time during that period. Ogie himself noted this in a Tweet: "Cute naman at trending nathaniel james." He followed this up with, "Ty for all the love for our baby! It is most overwhelming! Very blessed!"
PEP.ph was able to talk to Ogie on November 9. During the interview, he revealed that he was not expecting Regine to give birth yet, but when she said she had to stay overnight at the hospital, he knew that was it. "Then her OB-Gyne said na i-CS [caesarean section] na para makaiwas na rin for any complications."
Ogie was present throughout the delivery. "Nandoon ako, nagpi-picture, nagvi-video. (I was there taking photos and videos.)" As for the baby, he said, "Naku, napakapogi ng bata! Maputi. Sa tingin ko, ang kamukha, ang mommy, si Regine! (Oh, the baby is so handsome! Fair. I think he looks like his mommy, Regine!)"
As of press time, no photos of the baby have been released to the public. In the meantime, Ogie expressed how touched he was upon seeing his mother and son bonding in a Tweet earlier today. "Truly moving to see a baby bond with mother through breastfeeding," he posted. "Priceless."
