During the Chika Minute segment of news show 24 Oras on April 11, TV host Pia Guanio admitted to being engaged to her non-showbiz boyfriend. According to the report on GMANews.tv, she said they introduced each other to their respective families on April 7.Although Pia named no names in her statement, TV host and writer Ricky Lo revealed in his Funfare column on the Philippine Star that Pia’s fiancé is a businessman named Steve Mago. The two have allegedly been together for almost a year.
Pia was previously in a five-year relationship with actor and TV host Vic Sotto. Rumors of them breaking up started in October 2010, but the two neither denied nor confirmed them. On April 17, 2011, a blog site called fashionpulis.com showed blurry shots of a “television personality” and a “hot hunk” kissing in a restaurant, and speculation that the woman in the pictures was Pia ran rampant. In an interview with PEP.ph, Pia said she had not seen the pictures and did not “owe anybody an explanation.”
