Singer Richard Poon has admitted that he and his girlfriend, doctor-actress Maricar Reyes, are now engaged. Though he has refused to elaborate on the details of their upcoming wedding, he did reveal that they are still planning their big day.

“Pag may detalye, probably, dahan-dahan ibibigay namin [sa inyo],” he was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph, adding that he would marry his fiancé the next day if only it were possible. “Pinaplano talaga 'yung ganito, e (If we already have the wedding details, we’ll probably reveal them bit by bit… You really have to plan events like this.).”

The crooner shared that his ideal wedding would be a small, intimate affair, with only their family and close friends in attendance—something he thinks Maricar would also want.

“I like her because she’s very simple. Hindi siya 'yung parang materialistic (She’s not materialistic),” he said.

Richard also revealed details about his relationship, saying that he immediately had a crush on her when he first saw her in a local TV show and that he fell for her even more when he got to know her better. He also shared that his father, whom he claims is hard to please, is likewise quite taken by his girl.

“Every Sunday, pag kaya, nagdi-dinner kami sa restaurant ng dad ko. So, nakakapag-usap sila. Amazingly, my dad… medyo ano 'yan, e, mahirap i-please, [pero] gustung-gusto niya si Mars [Maricar] (Every Sunday, whenever we can, we have dinner at my dad’s restaurant. So they’re able to talk. Amazingly, my dad… he’s a bit hard to please, but he really likes Maricar),” he said.
