Cesar Montano has admitted that his marriage to actress Sunshine Cruz is currently in a rough patch. This came after the rumors that he was cheating on his wife with Krista Miller, his co-star in his film Alfredo S. Lim: The Untold Story.

“Well, may problema. To be quite honest, may problema,” he was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph. “But... there’s no perfect marriage. Lahat naman nagkakaroon ng problema (Well, we have a problem. To be quite honest, there’s a problem. But… there’s no perfect marriage. All marriages have problems.).”

He also said that he’s in the process of fixing his current marital woes.

“Okay lang, nasa proseso tayo ng pag-aayos. Inaayos pa (It’s okay, we’re in the process of fixing it. We’re still fixing it),” he had said. "I love my family and I will never do anything to hurt my family or to destroy my family."

“Sa totoo lang, katulad ng sinabi ko kanina, any marriage to that matter, hindi naman perpekto katulad ng marriage namin ni Sunshine,” he said. “Pareho kaming tao lang na nagkakamali and to be able to sustain and maintain this married life, it’s not an easy task. So, hinihiling ko lang na ito, sana maunawaan ninyo kami…Nasa process kami to put both ends meet at maayos ‘to (The truth is that, like I said a while ago, any marriage, for that matter, is not perfect, like mine and Sunshine’s. We’re both only human and we make mistakes, and it’s not an easy task to be able to sustain and maintain this married life. So, we’re asking you to understand us…We’re in the process of fixing this to make both ends meet.).”
