Though Bea Alonzo has been a showbiz mainstay for almost a decade, the actress has amazingly managed to avoid major controversies. She credits this accomplishment to being responsible when it comes to sharing information about herself. This includes interactions on social media, where issues can easily spring up.

“I always believe na kung hindi mo bibigyan yung tao ng lisensya na [maapektuhan ka] hindi ka naman papakialaman e (I always believe that people won’t bother you if you don’t give them a reason to do so),” she was quoted as saying in an article on Push.com.ph.

However, the actress, who maintains an account on the photo-sharing site Instagram, does not completely disapprove of such sites. Rather, she encourages her fellow celebrities to think first before they hit the “post” button.

“Kung ayaw mo pag-usapan, then don’t tweet [too much information],” she said. “Kung ayaw mo pagtsismisan kayo, don’t go out in a place na alam mong makikita kayo (If you don’t want people to talk about you, then don’t tweet too much information. If you don’t want to hear rumors about you, then don’t go out in a place where you know you’ll be seen.). It’s all about choices.”

“Kasi once pumasok ka sa business na ‘to, di ka pwede magreklamo na 'bakit mo pinapakialaman buhay ko?'” she added. “Dapat alam mo once you enter the business na lahat ng tao makikiaalam sa buhay mo (Because once you enter this business, you’re not allowed to complain when people pry into your life. You should know that once you enter this business, everyone would want to know what’s going on in your life.).”
