There's no denying it: we Pinays have gorgeous bronze skin. Sure, whitening products may perpetually be in vogue here in the Philippines, but what we fail to see is that the natural tan most of us are born with is actually a blessing: the higher amoung of melanin found in our skin makes it less vulnerable to wrinkles and other forms of skin damage, in effect making morenas look younger than our fair-skinned counterparts. And morenas can rock a lovely beachy glow all year round, even in the middle of the rainy season—something our mestiza and chinita sisters can’t easily do!
