Love Story

Vanessa and Adam first met at a bar back in 2005. Vanessa had her eyes on another guy then, but it was Adam who asked for her number. A year passed since their first encounter, but they only exchanged a few text messages within that period. However, when Adam accidentally bumped a motorcycle as he was driving his car in Pampanga, the two saw each other again--Vanessa was on nursing duty at the hospital where Adam rushed the wounded. After the serendipitous meeting, the two reconnected and started going out on dates. Come February 2007, Vanessa and Adam officially became a couple.

Years later, the couple found themselves celebrating Vanessa's birthday. At the party, Adam's cousin invited everyone to charades. "When it was Adam's turn to [act], he [said] ‘Hindi ko alam ‘to, pano ba yan, pwede ba gumamit ng props?,'" the bride recalls. To's Vanessa surprise, she suddenly found Adam kneeling down with a ring in his hand while the rest of the guests held up a tarp with the question "Will you marry me?" written on it. "So I wore the ring, not saying yes and not saying no, [because] he didn't ask me anything verbally either. [It was just understood that he proposed] and I accepted!" shares Vanessa.

Wedding Preparations

Vanessa and Adam's wedding in Pampanga celebrated not only their love for each other, but also for everything else that they hold dear. The couple exchanged I do's at the San Guillermo Parish Church in Bacolor, Pampanga, a church that was restored after being buried in lahar when Mt. Pinatubo erupted. With the church's renewed splendor amidst its history of ruins, the couple's ceremony was made more intimate and meaningful.

Delicate pastel hues, metallic details, and chic accents allowed the couple's affair to channel a warm vibe. Their reception at the Lakeshore Tent in Mexico, Pampanga was marked with a chic set-up and a delectable feast that left their guests raving. "Our guests loved the food. Everybody had fun and that made me feel so happy," shares Vanessa.

With the outpour of love and support on their big day, the couple proved how communicating each other's preferences pays off. The bride asserts that in planning a wedding, it's important to ask the groom's opinion, and that couples should be willing to compromise.
