Tine and Jay Jay first met at a common friend's party. At their initial meeting, the two realized how much they clicked--and they soon went out on dates to get to know each other more. Feeling that their friendship was progressing to something romantic, Jay Jay expressed his intentions of pursuing Tine both to his parents and Tine's. The two officially became a couple at the 2008 Hot Air Balloon Festival at Clark, Pampanga.
Two years later, Jay Jay again found himself in front of both sets of parents--this time to ask for Tine's hand in marriage. With the blessing of both families, Jay Jay was able to cook up a romantic and unforgettable proposal. He took Tine, and their families to Punta Fuego in Batangas. There, Jay Jay waited for Tine at Fuego Point--the spot which, according to Tine's sister, was the place Tine had envisioned for her proposal when they visited Punta Fuego years ago.
When Tine finally got to the meeting point that faced the sea and the setting sun, she found Jay Jay with their dog Coffee. When Coffee approached Tine, she found the engagement ring tied around Coffee's neck. Out of sheer joy and surprise, Tine started laughing and crying at the same time. When Jay Jay finished his heartfelt speech, Tine uttered a sweet yes.
Both entrenched in the local wedding industry, Tine and Jay Jay knew exactly what they wanted for their own wedding. They were also set on making their celebration truly their own.
Set on a warm April day, Tine and Jay Jay's wedding spelled out a fun, casual, and relaxing ambiance. The couple had booths filled with refreshments, sweets, props, and other delectable favors available at their open field ceremony, which made their wedding feel like a charming summer fair.
Tine and Jay Jay scoured Divisoria, Dapitan, and various department stores to come up with their one-of-a-kind wedding decor. Their effort paid off, as the couple's reception was dotted with whimsical details such as quirky vintage accents, colorful blooms, and even a cake shaped like a stack of Oreos! The unique details channeled a refreshing air of charm and romance.
To make the planning process even more meaningful, Tine and Jay Jay made sure that their families were very much involved in the preparations and the wedding itself. By doing bringing their efforts together, Tine and Jay Jay felt that they were able to get a glimpse of how it is like to work together as a married couple. "No matter what, do things together. Talk about things, decide on things together--it's a practice for what you would be doing for forever," the couple shares.
