Love Story
Suy met Benz in 1999 during a trip to Isabela with her cousins from the father side. One of her cousins, Rozelle, introduced her to Benz, who was Rozelle's cousin from her mom's side. Based in Isabela, Benz got Suy's number in order to get in touch with her after her brief visit in Isabela. They immediately became friends and constant textmates. But every time Benz would go to Manila, he would invite Suy for a movie-together with her whole family. This way, Benz got closer not only to Suy, but also to the rest of her family. After one year of courtship, Suy finally agreed to be Benz' girlfriend.
Ten years after their initial meeting, Benz mustered the courage to propose to Suy. During one particular Christmas vacation, Benz set up a tarpaulin with the words "Will you marry me?" inside his and Suy's room while Suy was asleep. When Suy woke up the day after Christmas, she opened her eyes to one of the best Christmas gifts she-and Benz--could ever receive.

The bride, with the help of her friends, made dozens of pinwheels, which were incorporated in various details ranging from the invites to the reception décor. The couple's quirky caricatures were also used to personalize some of their wedding details, and these allowed their fun personalities shine through. With their wedding's endearing accents, guests felt quite at home at the reception. The laid-back ambiance also helped the couple enjoy their big day to the fullest.
With the number of DIY projects that the bride engaged in, she suggests that couples who wish to do the same to start the projects way in advance. When everything is well-prepared and enough time is devoted to the crafts, the effort and time poured into the projects would certainly make the wedding unique and unforgettable.
