Fond of quick weekend beach getaways and with the movie Mamma Mia as inspiration, Ros and Marty went for a Grecian beach-themed wedding. With a blue, gold, and white color motif, the couple's destination wedding turned out to be a relaxed, romantic affair.

Love Story
Ros and Marty first met in October 2005 at a common friend's party. Ros thought that it was going to be an all-girls party, and was surprised to see guys there, including Marty. "I wasn't planning on going that night, but I guess fate really brought us there," says Ros. However, the two didn't exactly hit it off right away. "We actually thought that it was going to be the first and last time we will ever meet. There wasn't even an exchange of phone numbers! Several weeks passed after that first meeting, I was exchanging text messages with the same common friend who introduced us, and Marty happened to be there with her. That is also when Marty finally got my number, and the rest was history!" Ros fondly recalls.
Three years later, Ros found herself at the Vivere Skyline restaurant with Marty, as they celebrated their 28th monthsary together. After a hearty dinner, the groom excused himself to go to the comfort room. When he came back, he then asked Ros to close her eyes. She waited for a while until Marty told her to open them again--and to her surpise and heart's delight, Ros saw Marty take out a diamond ring from his pocket. "I swear my heart stopped, everything froze. I didn't hear a single word he said. He [even] asked: ‘Narinig mo ba ako?'" the bride recalls.
Seeing how stunned Ros was, Marty then approached her and went down on his knee and said: "[A]ng sabi ko, this is the sign of my commitment to you, will you marry me?" After kidding with the question "Totoo ba yan?" (to which Marty smiled nervously), Ros finally said "yes" with tears of joy running down her cheeks.

Wedding Preparations
Inspired by the movie Mamma Mia, Ros and Marty went for a Grecian beach wedding that was simple, laid-back, and elegant. They chose La Iya, Batangas as venue for their celebration as they were fond of quick beach getaways there. With the charm and tranquility of their chosen venue (where actress Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo also tied the knot), the couple went for a cool and calming blue, white, and gold color motif.
The couple's inspiration was translated to the details of their wedding, such as the dresses, décor, and venue. Through planning their wedding, the couple proved how important it is to participate, compromise, trust, and prioritize during the planning process. "It is an opportunity for you to put your compatibility to the test--sort of like a preview of what's to come," says Ros of the preparations. She adds: "Participating can sometimes lead to (sometimes rather lengthy ) discussions. Sometimes you agree, sometimes you don't. But the best part is being able to reach a compromise. It's important that you make decisions together."
Another of the couple's realizations is that trust is very important. "Trust that your partner can also make decisions on your behalf, and that he or she will make sure your welfare and interest is always considered. Once you are comfortable with [your suppliers], and you're confident that they know what you like and don't like, you can trust them to make certain decisions on your behalf when necessary," explains Ros.
Ros also shares some questions that couples should ask when setting priorities: "What are the things that you can't live with, and can't live without? What is that something that you've been saving up for? What are the things that you think don't really matter as much?" By asking these, she and Marty was able to focus on the things important to them.
