Love Story
It was Pia's classmate, Joyce, who first thought that it would be nice to pair Pia with Jeff--Joyce's younger brother. Joyce gave Pia's number to Jeff, but Pia never got a call.
Pia thought that Jeff wasn't interested at all, but then she was surprised one day, when Jeff who replied an email that she had sent to Joyce. Jeff told her that she might have meant to email his sister and not him, as he and Joyce had similar email addresses. The two finally got to talk, and the incident led them to eventually realize that Joyce was on to something all along.
Pia and Jeff, Pinoys who were both born and raised in the United States, had no idea what the Philippines looked like. They were equally excited when they visited the country, and instantly fell in love with Boracay. Jeff spontaneously decided that the island was the perfect place for him to pop the question to Pia. He found the perfect band from the resort's jewelry shop.
When dinner came, Jeff brought Pia to a special spot at the resort, where he asked the staff to prepare a romantic set-up for his proposal. As the sun was setting, Jeff got down one knee and asked for Pia's hand in marriage. Shocked at first, Pia happily said yes, with a promise from Jeff that she gets to choose another engagement ring when they get back to the US.

Wedding Preparations
Pia and Jeff tied the knot in Laguna Beach, California. The wedding, held by a coast, exhibited a charming, laidback vibe. The couple laced their wedding with chic and classic details, which came in dreamy earth tones like ivory, crème, brown, pale green, and peach. The chic color palette worked well with their chosen ceremony venue, which featured a scenic view of the ocean, and reception venue, which featured dark wood floors and floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Pia says, "When picking a venue, [choose] one with colors, existing décor, and architecture that fit your wedding style" Doing so allowed the couple to pull off cohesive affair.
To make their special day truly about them, and to lessen the fuss with the preparations, opted for a small entourage. Pia and Jeff also made their wedding intimate with personalized details, such as their DIY postcards. Moreover, the couple paid homage to their Filipino-American heritage by choosing suppliers with Filipino blood. These included renowned wedding gown designer Monique Lhuillier, milliner Mich Dulce, and photographer Nelwin Uy.
All the details that perfectly fell into place for the wedding, and Pia and Jeff couldn't have asked for more. They share, "Just remember it's your (bride and groom's) special day--whatever you choose to do is the right decision."
