Love Story
Nina and Mikki met back when they were in college. Nina says that since their first meeting, they were inseparable even if Mikki was based in Batangas while she lived in Manila. Their strong connection overcame the distance and kept them happily together as a couple for ten years.
On their tenth anniversary, Mikki decided to take their relationship to another level, and the way he did it made a deep impression on Nina. "It was the first sunrise of 2009 when Mikki asked me to marry him. It was our 10th year together and taking it to the next level meant a more symbolic proposal for him. He did it on a cliff in Tagaytay overlooking the lake, which had a dreamy hue as the first traces of light emerged. The summit meant that we were at a high point in our relationship, and the break of dawn signified a new beginning for us. How he proposed was simple yet profound. As I peered thru his camera, I found the words ‘Will you marry me?' inscribed on his most prized lens, an unforgettable act of sweetness and self surrender," Nina shares.

Wedding Preparations
Nina and Mikki filled Tagaytay with a rustic romantic air when they exchanged I do's with a delectable chocolate-strawberry-and-champagne theme. The entourage walked down the aisle in classy attire showcasing the wedding's chocolate brown, red, and white color palette. The bride and groom were also clad in sophisticated ensembles that perfectly matched their romantic affair.
During the reception, guests were greeted with a special garden cocktail buffet that featured canapés, cheeses, pastries, grapes, and strawberries. The outdoor venue became the perfect background for the rustic urns and wood boards that accented the buffet spread. The reception tables were also lined with blooms in bold and vibrant shades of red and green. Chocolate brown accents and real chocolate treats gave the event a sweet ambiance.
To make the affair warmer and more personalized, unique DIY table markers with chocolate-inspired names, such as Infusions, Ganache, and Truffles, were used to label the reception tables. Aside from providing the design for the menu cards, the couple also incorporated poems in the text. And while their event was filled with sweet treats and details, it was Nina and Mikki's love for each other that proved to be the sweetest.
