Love Story
During one of his breaks from taking a college degree in Australia, Phil was introduced to Mei by a common friend at a party. The crowd that comprised that group got along so well that every time Phil would come home to the Philippines, they would all hang out. Phil and Mei also jived, that years later, Phil finally asked Mei out. The two started seeing each other more often, even without their common friends.
With a solid friendship as foundation, it wasn't long until Mei and Phil decided to take the next step for their relationship. Mei shares that Phil would always joke about getting married whenever they'd talk about their future. They would usually end up laughing it off, as they both thought then that they weren't ready.
But during their special trip to Bangkok to celebrate their second anniversary, their usual conversation about their future took on a different turn. "We were having some wine on our balcony, looking at this amazing view while discussing about our future. Then, like how our other conversations normally go, Phil said ‘Mei, let's just get married really.' Then my exact words to him were ‘Whatever. You don't even have a ring.' Then from his pocket, he pulled out a small box. I was in shock at that point, and kept asking him if he was serious. And he asked me the question in a more serious manner, and I said yes!" Mei fondly recalls.

Wedding Preparations
With the cool winds and rustic terrain of Tagaytay, Mei and Phil's A Midsummer Night's Dream-themed wedding turned out to be a whimsical February event. The couple opted for pale hues for their various wedding details, which complement the chic rustic charm of HillCreek Gardens. "We wanted it to feel as if we were all in a dream, amidst a forest," the bride shares. The fine weather and full moon gave the perfect ethereal ambiance to the couple's dreamy celebration of love.
To make the event even more special, the groom and the couple's guests prepared heartfelt performances. Phil sang his rendition of Adam Sandler's Grow Old with You, and even tweaked some of the lyrics to further personalize the song for Mei.
To make such a dream wedding come to life, the couple asserts that couples should "learn to prioritize" when planning their big day. "[For example,] if you want an expensive gown, go for a more affordable cake," shares Phil and Mei. Moreover, the couple adds: "Do not be overwhelmed with the amount of work and decisions you have to make. Just enjoy every moment!"
